As a result of misunderstanding the schedule for trash collection, Mizkif, a Twitch streamer, incurred significant penalties for failing to bring the trash cans back to his house.'
Popular Twitch streamer Matthew "Mizkif" Rinaudo has recently been hit with a fine for leaving his trash cans out on the street for too long. Like many urban areas, trash collection in Mizkif's neighborhood is scheduled for a specific day of the week, but due to confusion over the schedule, Mizkif ended up with a number of tickets.
During a January 16 Twitch livestream, Mizkif and his housemate and fellow streamer Emiru discussed the fines, which were incurred at his house in Austin, Texas. Mizkif recently moved into the house, which is located next to the home of Twitch streamer and One True King co-founder Esfand. Mizkif has joked about selling the house to another streamer, Knut, who may also have to deal with issues related to trash collection.
HOA violations can range in cost, with minor infractions costing around $25 and more serious offenses costing hundreds of dollars. It seems that Mizkif has accumulated multiple fines, and if they go unaddressed, the association can take legal action against the homeowner, which Mizkif fears. He mentioned during the stream that the notices are left at his mailbox within two days of leaving the trash cans on the street and he called his HOA "really cringe." His housemate Emiru also stated that she was unsure of the day when the city collects the trash from their content house.
Though the specifics of their conversation were not shared, the two Twitch streamers who have been living in the house for a while, hinted that trash collection day is on Tuesday. It's currently unclear how many fines the Austin house has accumulated over the past two years, as Mizkif did not reveal the total amount he owes to the HOA.
