Peyzki Returns to Twitch After 2 Year Ban 13 January 2023

After an extensive ban from the streaming platform, Peyzki finally returns to explain to viewers why she was banned for so long.

After two long years of being banned from Twitch, streamer Peyzki has finally returned with an explanation about why she was banned from the platform for such an extensive amount of time. With many streamers getting banned for breaking community guidelines, Peyzki's explanation is a simple but surprising one.

Many streamers throughout the years have been vocal about their criticisms of Twitch's ban policies. Sometimes the bans seem to come out of nowhere while other bans are more justified. However, whether the bans are deserved or not, rarely do they last for a long time. Many streamers are banned for just a few days or weeks; occasionally for even just a few hours. However, Peyzki found herself being one of the unfortunate streamers to face a ban that lasted a whole two years.

In her return Twitch stream, Peyzki explained to viewers that she was banned for so long because she played a copyrighted song during one of her broadcasts. After playing a Beyonce song during one of her streams, Peyzki's channel was hit with a severe DMCA strike which caused the long-running ban. The entirety of the ban lasted two years and two days.

After Peyzki extinguished speculation in the chat that she was banned for nudity, she quickly made it clear that it was a simple copyright strike. While addressing her viewers she even made a quip about how Twitch wouldn't have banned her channel for so long if she had broken the community guidelines on nudity, and that many streamers have had shorter bans for worse offenses. Although simply playing a song is an extreme reason to give a multi-year ban, Peyzki seemed in good spirits about the situation and appeared pleased to be back streaming.

It's great that Peyzki can now return to Twitch in order to create more content for her viewers, but it's also alarming to see that something as simple as playing a copyrighted song can put someone's channel on hold for such a long period of time. Some streamers have even faced DMCA strikes despite using Twitch's own music application. Although these issues have improved slightly with some games including streamer modes that take out any copyrighted music, some creators still face similar issues to the one Peyzki had to deal with. Strikes like these can really hurt a streamer's livelihood if streaming happens to be their main source income. Although copyright laws exist for a good reason, sometimes the consequences of breaking these laws can be extreme.
