PlayStation is shutting down a PS4 console exclusive for good

It is unfortunate when game services or entire games are taken offline. The loss of media and the inability to access them again is a shame, and game preservationists can only do so much to keep these lost titles from being forgotten. GUNS UP!, a military strategy game developed by Valkyrie Entertainment and published by PlayStation, will be shutting down next year. Despite this, PlayStation fans are eagerly awaiting the release of God of War Ragnarök.

The announcement of game services or entire games being taken offline is never welcome news. The loss of media that can no longer be accessed is always a disappointment and, despite the efforts of game preservationists, some lost titles may be forgotten. According to ComicBook, the military strategy game GUNS UP!, developed by Valkyrie Entertainment and published by PlayStation, will be shutting down next year. Despite this, many PlayStation fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the

highly-anticipated game God of War Ragnarök.

"It has been announced that starting April 14th, 2023, GUNS UP! will no longer be available for play as all multiplayer and online features will be terminated. As the game requires an internet connection to play, it will not be playable after this date. To show appreciation for their support, 50k gold will be given to all current accounts before the end of the month," reads a notice on the game's official website. GUNS UP! was first released in 2015 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive, later becoming available on Steam in 2018, and eventually on mobile devices. However, the move to mobile did not bring the desired resurgence in popularity. Players who wish to complete all Steam achievements and PlayStation trophies have just over five months before the April 14th deadline.
